Miniatures
"Miniatures” is inspired by the everyday little encounters Miyo has come to cherish and would like to remember around Richmond. The favourite neighbourhood ducks, "the Amigos", other ducks and geese gliding along the river Thames, the cute dogs and their lovely owners, as well as the locals who pause, wander, chat and share these familiar places every day.
Through these miniature paintings, Miyo wants to capture the charm of Richmond through its people and animals, not as grand landmarks, but as the little scenes that make a place feel lived in and loved. Each tiny artwork's style is minimalistic, clean and classic. It strives to highlight the subject, the focus on the emotions and perspectives once encountered.
Moving to the United Kingdom a few years ago, Miyo found herself discovering Richmond through these everyday moments. These paintings are her way of preserving those fleeting encounters and the feeling of belonging they bring.
All available originals are unique and colours may vary from screen to screen. All prices quoted are without frame.
This collection is not for sale. Every piece is a very precious sentimental piece of memories to Miyo.

On a very grey morning, Miyo spotted this endearing sight on her walk that she could not really put to words how it made her feel. There was no movement, just little one and the owner sharing a moment of silence and peace, next to each other while enjoying the view on a grey day. Maybe it represented a lifetime of silent loyalty, the passage of time and the profound unconditional love of one towards their dogs.
Sincere apologies to Mouse and owner whom I will not sell the original. The emotional attachment of the artist to her artwork is so real. (The owner had received the only print.) Grateful that by word of mouth, the owner got to learn of Miyo's artwork of Mouse. May this be a precious memory for them. ♡

A very cute dog which Miyo adores very much. Also a very characteristic dog with a lot of sassiness. His name Milo means a lot to Miyo as well as it is a well-known Asian childhood favourite drink that every Asian kid growing up would probably know of.

On a lovely slightly grey typical London day, Miyo spotted this curious cute dog inching himself forward just to see what is going on down on the boats. She could not help but to take a photo for memories. The owner who was not doing anything at all, saw me capturing this shot and started glaring angrily at Miyo for a very long time. Miyo continued to look at his dog, feeling a little confused before he stomped off with his dog. Miyo decided to remember the moment, choosing kindness to herself by portraying it through the colorful flower. She shall forgive the unkindness but she shall not forget.

While enjoying her time with locals at tide table cafe in Richmond, Miyo spotted a charming frenchie looking endearingly at another small dog for a very long time. The other small dog was seated on the owner's lap throughout the entire time, being adored by many. Maybe it was longing, perhaps it was the dog's boredom, or maybe the adorable frenchie just wants to say hi to this charming other dog.

From afar, Miyo spotted this cute fluffy big white dog smiling at her from Tide Table Cafe, Richmond upon Thames, U.K.. The owners must have been in the queue waiting for their yummy coffee or food. It absolutely made her day! She painted the piece in June 2026 to remember this little moment of happiness that she received from a stranger's dog. She did not know the dog at all but she had the fortune to later know that the owner adores the dog very much and that dearest Koda had sadly passed away unexpectedly in Aug 2026. Miyo's sincere condolences to the owner and apologies she would not let go of her precious original (but she made the only print for the owner).
Miyo will someday make sure she honours Koda well in a form of an exhibition. ♡

It was one of the greyest day in Winter of 2025/2026. It was uneventful, quiet, wet, cold and unpleasant like a typical British Winter day in the middle of a long grey period. Miyo spotted a little adorable fluffy pom strolling along Richmond riverside with its owner. It made Miyo's day happier. Just the smallest moments of joy.

Colours had popped in early March 2026. The typical British grey days were almost over. Miyo was sitting by a bench at the Richmond riverside, enjoying a moment of peace in a quiet spot where she spotted this gorgeous calm dog turning around a lot to wait for its elderly owners. She could not describe why she felt a lot about this sight. Perhaps it was the deep care and patience of the dog towards its owners. ♡

On a surprisingly warm spring day in 2026, Miyo was taking a quick walk along the Richmond riverside where she spotted a cute little dog staring at her from afar when she stopped to enjoy the view. The little one, next to the owner, enjoying its time on the grass were probably alert to protect its owner before realising Miyo was of no ill intentions. :)
